I really enjoy canning. I like being able to decide how much salt and sugar goes into the food we eat. I get a lot of satisfaction seeing those jars full of food when I'm done canning. The weekend of August 23rd was spent buying produce, canning, dehydrating, and freezing said produce. We froze over 25 pounds of peaches and about 15 pounds of blueberries--we drink a lot of smoothies around here. We made sun dried tomatoes in the dehydrator. And we canned lots of salsa, blackberry jam (we picked the berries ourselves), and tomatoes. It was a lot of work but so very worth it.
